Do I need to replace my existing curtain rail?
It depends on your setup. Our curtain track kit includes a complete motorized rail (adjustable 1-6m). If you prefer to keep your existing rail, our standalone curtain motor can be retrofitted to many standard tracks. For roller blinds, the 35mm motor fits inside standard blind tubes — no rail change needed.
How much weight can the track support?
Our curtain track kit supports curtains up to 30kg — that handles most residential curtains including heavy lined drapes, blackout curtains, and double-layered setups. For exceptionally heavy curtains (theatrical drapes, commercial installations), contact us for a commercial-grade motor.
Can I open curtains to a specific position?
Yes. The Tuya app lets you set exact percentages — open to 50% for diffused light, 80% for a view while maintaining privacy at the edges. The roller blind motor is especially precise with percentage-based positioning.
What is touch motion activation?
Pull the curtain gently by hand and the motor detects the motion and continues opening or closing automatically. You don't need to pull the whole way — just a light tug starts the motor. It's the most natural way to interact when your phone isn't handy.
Can I automate curtains with sunrise and sunset?
Yes. The Tuya app syncs with your local sunrise and sunset times (based on your GPS location). Set curtains to open at sunrise for a natural wake-up, and close at sunset for privacy and energy savings. The schedule adjusts automatically as days get longer or shorter.
Do smart curtains work with scenes?
Absolutely. Create scenes like "Good morning" (open curtains + turn on lights + start coffee machine) or "Movie time" (close curtains + dim lights to 10%). Trigger scenes from the app, a wall button, or by voice via Alexa/Google Home.
