WiFi FAQ
What is the difference between WiFi 6 and WiFi 7?
WiFi 6 (802.11ax) supports speeds up to about 9.6Gbps with features like MU-MIMO and OFDMA for handling many devices. WiFi 7 (802.11be) doubles theoretical speeds to 46Gbps, adds 320MHz channels, Multi-Link Operation (MLO) for lower latency, and 4K QAM. For most homes and offices, WiFi 6 is excellent. WiFi 7 makes sense for new builds, high-density venues, and future-proofing.
Should I use ceiling-mount or wall-plate access points?
Ceiling APs provide 360-degree coverage and are best for open-plan offices, restaurants, lobbies, and large rooms. Wall-plate APs provide coverage in a single room and include LAN ports for wired devices — ideal for hotel rooms, apartments, and individual offices. Many projects use both: ceiling APs in common areas, wall-plate APs in rooms.
How many access points do I need for a 4-bedroom house?
Typically 2-3 ceiling APs for a 4-bedroom house, depending on construction. Concrete and stone walls reduce signal more than drywall. We offer a free site survey — send us your floor plan on WhatsApp and we will recommend AP placement and quantity.
What is PoE and do I need a PoE switch?
Power over Ethernet (PoE) delivers electrical power through the same Ethernet cable that carries data. Most access points are PoE powered — one cable from a PoE switch provides both network connectivity and power. You need either a PoE switch or individual PoE injectors. A PoE switch is cleaner for multiple APs.

Ubiquiti UniFi is the prosumer favourite — best management interface, zero subscriptions, strong community. Do these APs need cloud management?
No. All three brands work standalone or with local controllers — no mandatory cloud dependency. UniFi has a free self-hosted controller and optional UniFi Cloud. Ruijie Reyee has free Ruijie Cloud and a local app. Huawei eKit uses Huawei iMaster NCE or local management. Cloud is optional and free for all three brands.
